Community PRotection Plan
Continuing to Learn and Address Community Concerns
The Enloe Dam project team continues to hear questions and concerns about potential impacts of dam removal. The Feasibility Study provided an important foundation, but there is still more work to do before a final project design is developed.
Additional studies and planning will continue to look at areas including:
Irrigation and downstream water users
Groundwater and wells
Sediment and water quality
Flooding, levees, and infrastructure
Community input will continue to help inform this work.
Developing a Community Protection Plan
The Community Protection Plan (CPP) will identify potential project impacts and measures to avoid, minimize, or address them, including monitoring, mitigation, and adaptive management. The goal is to ensure downstream irrigators, agricultural producers, landowners, and other water users are not left with unresolved project-related risks.
The plan will be informed by continued technical study and community input as project design advances.
Irrigation and Water User Assessment
A major component of this work will focus on downstream irrigation and water use.
Additional analysis will build on earlier outreach and assessment work to better understand existing conditions, potential impacts to pumps and irrigation infrastructure, sediment and contaminant concerns, and appropriate mitigation and response measures.
Input from irrigation districts, agricultural producers, individual irrigators, and other water users will help shape this work.
